Welcome to Let's Build an Outfit!
This is the series where I show you step by step of how I create an outfit. I will be showcasing the different methods I use to create the looks you see (and sometimes don't) because I don't have one way to do things.
Let's go!
""
Side note: These posts will feature clothes from all over the interwebs. This means I may be using a $400 plain white t-shirt in an outfit(can you say #overpriced fast enough?) or other high-priced items. I most certainly cannot afford these things. Lucky for all of us, I am a great bargain shopper (like copped a nice brand new jacket for 85 cents good) and I will be doing another series about shopping and finding those deals!

Method 1: When the weather ain't perf.
(Bad Weather Outfits)
"""
So lately the weather has been worse than a person fresh out of a bad breakup, so keeping warm is of most importance.
Also there has been random rain storms that pop out of nowhere so we need to keep the possibility of rain in mind.
"""
Things to keep in mind so far:
-Cold weather:
Go for: layers, sweaters, jackets, undershirts, boots, socks/tights
Stay away from: thin fabrics
-Rain:
Go for: Closed toed shoes, non porous shoes (Leather/fake leather, plastic, etc.)
Stay away from: suede, most heels, open-toed shoes
"""
Now where do we go from here?
I like to work up from the shoe in this instance because that's where the weather affects me most. Most people don't like to walk around all day with mini pools in their feet...
Sooo......
Let's start with a pair of doc martens:
I like these because they are made out of a synthetic material so water don't stand a chance...if you lace them up right.
So now that we have the feet covered, lets move up the body!

The next thing to think about is the color scheme you want to wear. Because its March I still want to be bright and happy because its Spring!!!
This is da color scheme. I lieks it.
A Sweater is ideal because wind likes to travel up the sleeve of jackets and you want to stay warm!
'''''
Most people aren't like me and like to keep their legs covered for warmth (and I don't blame them!) So long pants are a go.

Jacket......why would this be an option?
Here is a sample outfit I would put together.
The shoes are pretty bright so I used pink accessories to help tone it down without going overboard.
The jacket and belt are green to add pops of color and the green belt helps to prevent the jacket from seeming to random and outlandish.
The purple pants are for another pop of color and the necklace also helps to tone everything down.
The gray sweater is kind of a grounding color to let everything else blend. There's no need for a crazy shirt when so many bold colors are being used!
