Quick post.

I've been meaning to post this but life has been a bit crazy. I'm not completely satisfied with the format of this blog and so I'm putting it on hold until I figure out what I want to do with it moving forward

Thanks

Da deets:
1) I started with the shorts because they are one of my new favorites! It had been a bit too cool for me to wear shorts (well not really, I'm just a really cold person-anything below 60 is freezing and between 60-70 is pants weather......)
2)The shorts have black accents all over them (in the front and back) so I went with this black shirt. I really LOVE this top because it is flowy and simple so it adds a bit of sophistication to my outfits
3) For the zillionth time: I LOVE HEELS, so the black wedges were my go-to shoe for the day
4)It was still a bit cool so I added the jacket and hat for warmth
5) I wanted the focus to be on the colors of the outfit and the shorts so I didn't add any accessories to the outfit!
"""""

Makeup:
1) I kept it really simple this time so:
1) I bought this new BB Cream and I AM IN LOVE WITH IT. So I have that on. I really looks as if I don't have anything on ^-^
2) A bit of eyeliner
3) Chapstick.
Yup, that's all.

"""
Welcome to Let's Build an Outfit!
This is the series where I show you step by step of how I create an outfit. I will be showcasing the different methods I use to create the looks you see (and sometimes don't) because I don't have one way to do things.
Let's go!
""
Side note: These posts will feature clothes from all over the interwebs. This means I may be using a $400 plain white t-shirt in an outfit(can you say #overpriced fast enough?) or other high-priced items. I most certainly cannot afford these things. Lucky for all of us, I am a great bargain shopper (like copped a nice brand new jacket for 85 cents good) and I will be doing another series about shopping and finding those deals!
"""
Method 1: When the weather ain't perf.
(Bad Weather Outfits)
"""
So lately the weather has been worse than a person fresh out of a bad breakup, so keeping warm is of most importance.
Also there has been random rain storms that pop out of nowhere so we need to keep the possibility of rain in mind.
"""
Things to keep in mind so far
-Cold weather:
Go for: layers, sweaters, jackets, undershirts, boots, socks/tights
Stay away from: thin fabrics
-Rain:
Go for: Closed toed shoes, non porous shoes (Leather/fake leather, plastic, etc.)
Stay away from: suede, most heels, open-toed shoes
"""
Now where do we go from here?
I like to work up from the shoe in this instance because that's where the weather affects me most. Most people don't like to walk around all day with mini pools in their feet...

Sooo......
Let's start with a pair of doc martens:

I like these because they are made out of a synthetic material so water don't stand a chance...if you lace them up right.

So now that we have the feet covered, lets move up the body!
"""
The next thing to think about is the color scheme you want to wear. Because its March I still want to be bright and happy because its Spring!!!

This is da color scheme. I lieks it.

A Sweater is ideal because wind likes to travel up the sleeve of jackets and you want to stay warm!
'''''
Most people aren't like me and like to keep their legs covered for warmth (and I don't blame them!) So long pants are a go.
'''''
Jacket......why would this be an option?

Here is a sample outfit I would put together.
The shoes are pretty bright so I used pink accessories to help tone it down without going overboard.
The jacket and belt are green to add pops of color and the green belt helps to prevent the jacket from seeming to random and outlandish.
The purple pants are for another pop of color and the necklace also helps to tone everything down.
The gray sweater is kind of a grounding color to let everything else blend. There's no need for a crazy shirt when so many bold colors are being used!

Outfit:
1) Oui Boy I had a lot of fun putting this outfit together! I had just gotten the top so I really wanted to wear it really badly >//<
2) It wasn't warm enough to wear the crop top by itself so I wore the tan Sport coat on top of it
3) I couldn't decide if I wanted to wear pants or a skirt with this outfit! After waffling on the idea for ten minutes I decided the pants because they were warmer and required me to wear less layers.
4) Otherwise I kept it all simple and minimalist. I wanted the focus of the outfit to be on the color scheme and small visual touches, like the scalloping of the top or how my lipstick matches my hair, to shine.

Outfit:
1) Welp, this outfit was so easy to put together, the skirt and bustier is a set so they go together
I love the pattern of this set!

2) I love black accents so I added my favorite hat and black converse boots (I had heels on earlier but I like the boots, it's a nice change from heels)
3) Clear frame glasses: downright awesome and I love to wear them. Period.

Makeup:
I didn't put too much because the glasses cover up so much of my face you really can't see the makeup sooooo:
1) Just a bit of foundation (I use Bare Minerals)
2) Some eyeliner
*I had pink lipstick on earlier but the color makes me feel some type of way so I won't post pictures of it just yet.

Weather: 81 degrees  (YES. SO MUCH YES.)
Song of the day: Meyrin Fields- Broken Bells
Theme: Garden Remnants
""
First of all, I really want to explain the vibe of this outfit that I was going for.
Its supposed to be like a garden party in a dark, twisted garden, kind of like the Mad Hatter's Birthday party in Alice and Wonderland.
Sooooooo....

1) I Started off with the shorts. I love these shorts so much! They are floral high waisted shorts with a cute exposed zipper in the back.

2) I have this peplum shirt that almost matches the blue in the shorts so I naturally wanted to wear it with the shorts.

3) Now I normally wear these shorts with some sort of tan or beige color to keep it light-hearted and fun. However, I wanted to channel that Alice in Wonderland feel in the outfit so I decided to wear the black wedges

4) I got the top on Clearance for $5 but it's a large (I wear a Small/Medium). So the peplum doesn't fit quite right so I like to add a belt to give the top a more fitted look. The obi-style belt gives a "corset-ish" (Yup, I'm not an English major) look to the outfit being so strongly out there. I wasn't going for steampunk.

5) The Hat ties all of the black from the shoes and the belt. Plus it's amazing. Some people love bunnies, some love food, some love others; I love this hat.

"""

Makeup:

1)Normally I would wear a pink lipstick to match the pink in the shorts but to keep with the "Garden Remnants" theme I used the dark purple lip stick
2) I wanted to focus on the lips (and I can't do eye shadow well yet) so I went with thick black eye liner on the top and a light blue eye liner on the bottom
3) For extra fun I but blue mascara on my bottom lashes!

Song of the Day: Don't Wake Me Up- Lianne La Havas

"""
How I came up with this outfit:
1) I have been wanting to wear this outfit for a while. Over winter break, I made the top and bottom set. It was originally supposed to be a skirt/vest set but I was feeling too lazy to put in the effort for a vest.

2) I was going to wear a pair of black booties but it was raining sooooo ----> Rain Boots

3) Hat. Well why not. I LOVE THIS HAT. I WEAR IT WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING. Plus since it is black, it helped to add more black to the outfit fitting  my "Wednesday Addams" theme.

Check me out lookin' like Wednesday, pale and all

Makeup:
1) Just heavy eyeliner and red lipstick. Simple and Gothic enough without being too depressing

Your face right now.

Wow.....no posts in over a week!
The world is ending! The sky has turned white and-oh wait, that's just the looming pile of work that I have to do.....>.>

Awk.

Well that's what this post is all about!
All of those posts on the first week were to help you all get used to the type of content on my blog! :D
From now on I'll be posting at least once a week! There will be some weeks where I'm feeling extra kind and I'll post a few times that week (especially if my lip gloss is poppin' that week *cue Lil' Mama*)

So enjoy this song as I cry into the hot mess that is computer science (maybe my tears will make it less of a "hot" mess.....)

"""
Weather: 64 degrees, Windy, Rainy
Song of the day: Ice Box - Omarion
Theme: Otome Girl

"""
How I came up with the outfit:
1) I've been purging on Otome* fashion five-ever (which is more than forever) and I really wanted to try an otome-inspired look. I saw this amazing lace dress in my closet and it just SCREAMED otome.
DAT LACE
2) It was cold so I needed to add some warmth. The dress is very thin as it is a spring dress :) So I added the blazer! Green partners well with black and cream and it works nicely with this outfit because it adds a nice soft pop of color. Luckily, the green is like a forest green so it is not too bright for the overall mature/vintage feel I was going for in the outfit.

3) The problem I often have with blazers is that when they are unbuttoned, they drown the shape of the outfit. This means the slight curve that I like to accentuate sometimes is lost in a hot mess of fabric TT.TT
So I like to add a belt! The belt on the dress draws the eye to assume there's some type of curve there!

4) For funsies I added the cat heels! The cream goes with the cream in the dress and brightens up the whole thing. The tights were for extra warmth and to play off of the lace in the dress.

5) This black, sliver, and gold charm necklace adds to the mature/vintage feel of the outfit. Plus the gold in the necklace helps to connect the gold in the belt to the rest of the outfit.

6) The hat. I throw on this hat all of the time. It's kind of a habit now.....>.<
